I am a Columbia trained psychiatrist, providing talk-therapy and medication management for NYC residents with a range of mental-health concerns. I have extensive experience treating depression, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and anxiety disorders including generalized anxiety disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Whether you’re experiencing low mood, anxiety, irritability, insomnia, difficulty concentrating, or are simply feeling stuck at work or in your relationships, I offer compassionate, thorough, and individualized psychiatric services.
I maintain a small practice so that I can provide the necessary attention for each patient. I will work with you to determine the right treatment plan. Your treatment may include talk therapy, medication management, and/or interventions such as mindfulness practices and lifestyle changes. With therapy, we will work together to deepen your understanding of yourself and your patterns in order to achieve meaningful changes. My approach to therapy incorporates both psychodynamic psychotheapy, a modality focused on uncovering, and pragmatic behavioral approaches, including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). As an MD, I will also collaborate with you to determine whther and how medication fits in your treatment plan, with the understanding that medication is not the right choice for everyone.
I conduct neuroscience research at Columbia University, studying the interactions between the brain and the body in anxiety and mood disorders, and my background in neuroscience helps me shape a personalized treatment plan that incorporates the most current scientific evidence.
My office is located on 200 west 90th street. I see patients in person on Tuesdays and offer virtual visits other days of the week.
